The Kodiaks put up a good fight in game five Friday night in Maple Ridge. But in the end the Flames proved to be too much, beating the Kodiaks 4-2 and taking the series four games to one.

The Flames jumped on the Bears early, scoring just 24 seconds into the game on a powerplay received for a warm-up violation penalty and carried the 1-0 lead into the second period.

The Flames made it 2-0 five minutes into the second frame before the Kodiaks scored to draw within one after two.

The Bears tied the game two-and-a-half minutes into the third period, but despite outshooting the Flames 15-8 it was the Flames who added two more goals to take the game 4-2 and the series four games to one.

The Kodiaks outshot the Flames 35-29.

The Kodiaks would like to thank the community of Aldergrove for their outstanding support and invite you to join us as we compete for the PJHL championship in 2018-19.

Go Bears!
