The Bears pulled into second place in the conference Wednesday night at home, beating the Panthers 5-2. It sets up an interesting match for next Wednesday when they take on the third place Pilots, who are just two points back with two games in hand.
The Kodiaks took the early lead again in this one, hitting the scoreboard under five minutes in to do the only damage of the period.
Aldergrove came out firing in the second scoring three straight before giving one back, to give the Bears a 4-1 lead heading into the third period.
The Panthers struck first in the final frame to pull within two, but Dryden Wust scored at the 11:34 mark to cap the scoring earning a 5-2 win for the home squad.
The Kodiaks outshot the Panthers 29-22.
The first star of the game was Spencer Unger who tallied a goal and two assists. Joshua Pollock was awarded second star with one assist. Erik Bocale who pitched in a goal and an assist gets honourable mention.
