Aldergrove ended the Outlaws comeback attempt Wednesday night in Aldergrove, ousting the 4th place contenders in game 5 by a score of 7-4.
The Kodiaks controlled the first period outshooting the visitors 14-4 but hot goaltending kept the Outlaws in it by limiting the Bears to just one goal.
Aldergrove opened up a two-gal lead just 2:26 into the second frame and added another to go up 3-0. The Outlaws made it 3-1 on the powerplay before Cameron Davitt scored shorthanded to make it 4-1. But the teams weren't done yet as they exchanged goals giving the Bears a 5-2 lead heading into the third.
The Outlaws changed goalies for the final frame and it almost paid off as Mission drew within one before the Bears put it away with two empty-net goals.
The Kodiaks shelled the Outlaws 42-18.
Quinncy Leroux took first star with two goals and an assist. Clayton Schroeder took second star with one assist and Matt Oliver took third star with a goal. Cameron Davitt chipped in a goal and an assist marking his return to the lineup.
The Bears will face either the Pilots or Flames in the second round pending the outcome of their series. The Flames are currently up three games to one. Check back to get the dates and times once the schedule has been drawn up.
